Microsoft Remote Desktop

Overview

Research labs requiring remote access to workstations or instrument systems running specialist software can make a request to Mann IT to configure the device for RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol) access. Access will only be provided in accordance with the USC Remote Access Software Standard, and on devices capable of meeting these requirements.

Eligibility

RDP access will only be provided to fixed workstations registered for connectivity on the USC wired network, and meet the following requirements:

Current Microsoft Windows OS
Sentinel One
Tenable
OS and software are regularly patched
Account passwords must meet USC Password guidelines (16 to 64 characters and changed annually)
